LOVE is the Answer! What’s the Question?

What if LOVE really is the answer to every single question in life in some form or manner? Wouldn’t it be great if there was a game show where the host would ask a wide variety of questions that pertain to everyday life, the contestants would hit a button to respond, and every answer would be the word LOVE? Of course, to acquire points, each contestant would have to give a logical explanation as to WHY love is the answer. Kind of like Jeopardy, the contestants would go through a vetting process, so that when they qualify to appear as a contestant the audience is consistently hearing the best of the best answers as to why LOVE really is the answer to everything.

I would be so addicted to this game show. Why? Because a well-produced show would be asking the questions that most of us ask ourselves in our daily life. How can I get my 7-year-old to stop throwing temper tantrums? LOVE is the answer. How can I stop bullying and harassment where I work and in my community? LOVE is the answer. How can I consistently be the person that my dog thinks I am? LOVE is the answer.

Admittedly, LOVE is never the complete answer, it’s just the absolute best place to start regardless of what you may be attempting to solve. In order for you to begin every endeavor with LOVE that you express to others, that you express in any situation, or to any contemplation you may have, it may be best to examine your love for yourself. I don’t mean in an egocentric sort of way. I mean in a way that shows that you believe in yourself, your personal motives, and your personal character traits.

How does one develop belief in oneself, positive personal motives, and solid character traits? Well, somehow, some way, and somewhere in everyone’s past there exists evidence. Nearly all evidence began in their heart, was then transferred to their mind creating good thoughts, which led to good words, which resulted in positive action. That’s how worthwhile character traits and positive personal motives are developed and that’s what can lead to a person believing in themselves. The quickest path to believing in oneself is through the simple method of helping others especially when you begin the process from a foundation of LOVE.

There’s a word of caution I’d like to inject at this point. I’ve always professed that when we’re helping other people, we’re also helping ourselves. It’s a naturally occurring process that has real lasting value. My caution is focused on how to place ourselves in a position that allows us to believe in who we are, what our inner personal motives are, and how we go about building our character traits. This is a journey that’s unique to each of us. It’s also a journey that includes sharing many similar paths with others getting us to that special place of believing in ourselves. Asking people we admire what works for them can offer shortcuts along the way.

Life isn’t just about helping others. Life is a continuous journey we may all be on of seeking constant improvement in the important areas of our lives. Important areas of our lives include the relationships we have with the people we love, the people that love us, people we care about in our community and our society, and all the issues we face each day. If we begin every interaction we have each day with “LOVE is the Answer! What’s the Question?” we’re able to lay our head on our pillow at night with no regrets. THAT, in and of itself, is powerful!

There’s a boatload of evidence out there that I’m as far away from being perfect as a person can be, but I keep making positive progress as life continues. One of the most powerful tools that has helped me believe in myself is my faith. Being a simple-minded individual, I can still recall how excited I was when I first heard that out of the ten commandments, the two most important were LOVE God and LOVE your neighbor. If those were the prescription for living a worthwhile and productive life, I figured that anyone could achieve living a successful life when they always lead with LOVE. LOVE really can be the answer…to everything…if we’ll just begin with it in every situation we face.

Another thing I’ve come to realize is that near every form of religion has LOVE deep within the roots of its foundation. Why is that? Can LOVE really be that important that all religions are dependent on it? Is LOVE what ties all the different paths that religions offer together heading in the same direction? It’s with sincere love that I ask these questions with great hope that you’ll pause for a moment and ponder how you might answer them. It’s wise to consider the role religion plays in other people’s life from the outside looking in. Then you can decide on your own if it may offer a path for you to step inside and discover how LOVE can play a larger role in your life.

Take a moment, pretend you’re a contestant on my new game show, and ask yourself how YOU would answer the toughest questions in your own life with the single answer “LOVE” followed by a logical explanation as to “WHY” LOVE is the answer. You’ll be amazed how your answer will offer a new positive perspective on anything, and everything, you had previously thought before. With practice, you’ll come to realize that LOVE really is the answer to everything. Who cares what the question was. Hey…I Believe In YOU! GiddyUp!
